In more sad news, American Idol season 19 contestant Willie Spence has passed away at the young age of 23 on the afternoon of October 11, 2022.
Coming out of the competition as runner up and a favorite among the American Idol Judges, Willie was in the process of putting out Original music. He even recieved an invitation along with other young musicians from Rivera Beach to sing for Queen Elizabeth next year, who, as we all know passed away this year as well.
His friend and R&B songstress K.Michelle posted about his untimely death.
According to reports made by People, the 23 year-old was driving in Tennessee near Jasper around 4pm when his Jeep Cherokee crashed into a truck. He was soon taken to the hospital, however he succumbed to his injuries.
Many of his American Idol Alumni and Judges shouted him out and shared how much he meant to them.
Unfortunately, I did not have the opportunity to become a fan of Willie while he was living, but he had a phenomenal voice and the light he shared in his music is real and his song "Never Be Alone" has been touching to me this morning. It's a deep remainder that we are never alone no matter what it feels like and someone is always out there watching over us whether we can feel it or not.
Rest in peace, and praying comfort for his loved ones.
