Cardi B vs. JT: A Problem With Modern Day Female Rappers

Updated: Oct 11, 2022

It was all yesterday's biggest headline...Cardi B vs JT. Twitter set ablaze.

Two female rappers who's impact have both arguably changed the landscape of what it takes and means to be a female rapper in today's current mainstream climate.

It all seemingly started when a female rap fan called out JT and fellow collaborators on a remix she did for best selling female rapper Nicki Minaj's latest number 1 hit song "Super Freaky Girl" as opposed to a collaboration Cardi B did with upcoming female rapper Glorilla called "Tomorrow 2."

im not like that at alllll I been doing remixes & never got credited ON A CHART BUT they get sung word for word and help push the original songs as intended unlike y’all well I can’t even say y’all cause you don’t rap,you TWEET! Congratulations Glo&stream FNF remix AND QUEENMIX😛 https://t.co/vk5pe33XLr — J🫖🪄 (@ThegirlJT) October 3, 2022

From here many a word was exchanged with both subliminal and direct interactions publicly done on social media for the whole world to see amidst a feud that according to both women was also being discussed privately.

This later turned into a bigger issue with other female rappers being involved and changing their photo icons into who they support and so forth.

So...here is my perspective. Twitter is a space where anyone can share their opinions, lives and perspectives in a public manner and many people (especially fans) have projected their feelings into situations where other public figures can witness such statements. I believe fans are at a strong root as to why many public figures, particularly rappers, and more specifically, female rappers, have so many issues with one another. They instigate many problems and unfortunately they take the bait and their insecurities become made known through public fodder.

I don't believe JT meant any harm to anyone but was clarifying that she has no issues or beefs with anyone based on who she chooses to collaborate with.

All of these women are gorgeous, arguably talented, and have undeniably made an impact. Sometimes the best thing to do is not to publicly react to everything people say as well as handling issues in a private manner.

There's a scripture in Matthew 18:15 that says:

“If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back. Matthew 18:15 NLT I love how this scripture points out to go and handle the matter privately, because many times other people's intentions are not pure as well as the fact it opens a door way for public humiliation when it's done so openly. Now, if this matter gets resolved, the world now has free terrain to pick at it and them in the future, As well, private communication can also open the doorway to discuss an issue, to see both sides and work through it. But what do you think? Sound off below.
